Wisycom Introduces MATF Wideband RF-over-Fiber Matrix

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Wisycom introduced the MATF on January 20, 2026, a 1U programmable RF matrix/combiner designed for large wireless systems that mix coaxial and fiber distribution.

The MATF covers 170 to 1260 MHz and can combine as many as eight RF zones in diversity, configured as eight zones into four outputs or as two independent four-zone-to-two-output groups. Wisycom also integrates a spectrum analyzer for checking individual inputs or monitoring combined outputs.

The modular chassis accepts coaxial and optical input cards, allowing a system to transport RF over single-mode fiber where long cable runs make coax impractical. Compatible Wisycom smart antennas can be controlled for gain and filtering over coax, and the system is intended for theater, broadcast, OB, corporate and other distributed RF installations.

Subsequent 2026 firmware releases added features including Ember+ support, presets, AC-supply status notification, diagnostics and display settings. Wisycom did not publish an official retail price in its launch announcement.
