Fender Refreshes American Professional Guitar and Bass Series

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Fender has refreshed its American Professional electric guitar and bass series, updating the Stratocaster, Stratocaster HSS, Telecaster, HotShot Telecaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Precision Bass, Precision Bass V, Jazz Bass and Jazz Bass V.

Across the range, Fender says the changes focus on pickups, hardware, electronics and neck feel rather than wholesale redesign. The guitars move to new V-Mod III pickup sets, while the basses receive corresponding V-Mod III Jazz Bass and Precision Bass designs. Bridge updates vary by model: the Stratocaster gets revised bent-steel saddles, the Telecaster adds a top-load/string-through bridge, Jaguar and Jazzmaster models use a J-Bridge with Panorama tremolo, and the basses receive redesigned HiMass bridges.

Fender also adds ClassicGear Precision potentiometers and push-push tone switching on the guitars. Neck profiles remain model-specific, including Deep “C” shapes on the guitars, a Modified 1963 “C” on the Precision Bass and a Slim “C” on the Jazz Bass. Left-handed Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision Bass and Jazz Bass versions are scheduled for spring 2027.

Official U.S. MSRP varies by model. The Stratocaster and Telecaster start at $1,799.99 USD MSRP; the Jaguar is $1,949.99 USD MSRP; the Jazzmaster is $1,899.99 USD MSRP; and the bass range spans roughly $1,899.99 to $2,049.99 USD MSRP depending on model and configuration.
