Shure Axient Digital 1.6 Adds Channel Linking and Preferred Access Point

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Shure has released version 1.6 of its Axient Digital wireless platform, adding two system-management features aimed at larger and more distributed RF deployments.

Channel Linking lets engineers link receiver channels across compatible AD4Q, AD4D, ADX5D and ANX4 receivers. Shure says linked secondary channels inherit key settings from the primary channel, including frequency, transmitter registration, encryption information and channel naming. The feature is intended to reduce repetitive configuration and make redundant or geographically distributed receiver systems easier to manage.

Preferred Access Point adds manual control over which AD610 ShowLink access point a supported transmitter uses. In systems with multiple access points, this gives operators an alternative to relying entirely on automatic signal-strength-based roaming.

The new functions are available through Axient Digital version 1.6, with the relevant 1.6.18 firmware posted October 6, 2026. Shure did not announce a separate price for the update.
