Heritage Audio Introduces Mix Buddy 19-Input JFET Instrument Mixer

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Originally announced in July 2026; added as part of TAM’s expanded-source catch-up.

Heritage Audio has introduced Mix Buddy, a 19-input, eight-output desktop mixer intended for electronic and amplified instruments as well as a microphone source. Its input complement includes four stereo high-gain pairs using Toshiba 2SK JFET buffers, three stereo unity-gain pairs, a balanced stereo line input, a stereo effects return, and a microphone preamp with up to 70 dB of gain and phantom power.

Each main instrument channel provides level, mute, and stereo or mono-plus-thru switching. A stereo/mono aux loop has per-channel sends with pre/post switching, while the microphone channel can route through the effects path for pedal processing.

The two balanced master outputs use different circuits: the first incorporates Heritage Audio’s 73-style active DI output stage and custom transformers, with selectable line- or microphone-level output; the second is transformerless. An independently controlled headphone output provides a third monitoring path.

Heritage Audio had not listed an official retail price on the product page at the time of this catch-up.
