Nordic Audio Labs NU-880K Combines Stereo and Surround Capture

Nordic Audio Labs has introduced the NU-880K, a flagship large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for mono, stereo and surround recording from a single body.

The Finnish-built microphone uses two D100K 30 mm capsule platforms with independent FloFET circuitry and native WXY B-format outputs. Nordic describes the architecture as equivalent to two matched NU-100K microphones in one housing.

Specifications include a 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response, 13 dBA self-noise, 137 dBA maximum SPL at 1 percent THD and a balanced five-pin XLR output. A perpetual Harpex-X plug-in license, shock mount, breakout box, cable and case are included.

The NU-880K is priced at €3,950 excluding VAT and carries a 10-year warranty.
