Polyend Endless Opens Effects Development to Prompts and Code

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Polyend announced Endless on January 22, 2026, positioning the compact hardware unit as an open effects platform rather than a conventional fixed-function pedal.

Endless runs one effect at a time on a 720 MHz ARM Cortex-M7 DSP core and supports stereo line input and output, an expression-pedal input and USB-C file transfer. Polyend also provides an open-source SDK for users who want to develop effects directly in C++.

The more unusual part is Polyend’s Playground system, currently labeled beta. Playground lets users describe an effect in natural language and generates a playable effect for the hardware. Polyend uses a token system for Playground processing rather than a subscription; newly purchased Endless units include $20 in Playground tokens. The company says users can also create effects without token charges by writing their own code with the SDK.

Endless operates at 48 kHz/24-bit and ships with a blank magnetic faceplate plus an Endless Delay faceplate. Polyend’s current product page lists ordering information, but TAM is not substituting a dealer price for the original launch price where the manufacturer announcement does not clearly establish one.
