Blue Cat’s Chorus adds pitch-modulated copies of a signal to create ensemble movement. It is useful for widening keyboard parts, softening a clean guitar or giving a static sound more animation. Depth, rate and mix determine whether the result is restrained or conspicuous. The free plug-in is available separately, so the freeware bundle need not be treated as an additional instrument.
Check sustained notes and rhythmic passages separately. Modulation that adds interest to a held sound can blur articulation elsewhere, so the wet balance should follow the role of the part.
