Overtonium
By Benjamin Dehli
Overtonium presents additive synthesis as a mixer of 32 harmonic sine oscillators plus a noise channel. Each partial has tuning, envelope, modulation and stereo controls, making the harmonic structure unusually visible. It is useful for designing evolving spectra, tuned resonances and sounds that move beyond a conventional subtractive patch. The project is released under AGPLv3 and provides both plug-in and standalone builds. More elaborate polyphonic settings can increase processing demands.
For a reusable production setup, save the patch with the session and note any external content it depends on. This makes it easier to reopen the arrangement on another machine.
