FB3 recreates the hybrid synthesis approach of the Kawai K3 and K3m, with waveform generation, factory sounds and expanded polyphony. It is useful for exploring a particular 1980s digital-oscillator character inside a modern host. SysEx and user-wave import/export also support exchanging material with compatible hardware, while the plug-in can function independently of owning it. The official October 2026 update provides current builds across several plug-in formats.

For a reusable production setup, save the patch with the session and note any external content it depends on. This makes it easier to reopen the arrangement on another machine.
