TugImgSynth derives oscillator material from images, using a path across picture brightness to create the waveform a voice plays. It is useful for exploring relationships between visual patterns and wavetable timbre, rather than beginning with a conventional oscillator shape. Version 2 introduces a substantially revised instrument workflow. Preserve the image source and patch information with the project so a later revision can reproduce the sound instead of depending only on an exported audio file.
For a reusable production setup, save the patch with the session and note any external content it depends on. This makes it easier to reopen the arrangement on another machine.
