OB-Xf continues the last open-source OB-Xd codebase within the Surge Synth Team’s current development infrastructure. It is a polyphonic instrument inspired by the Oberheim OB-X and is useful for classic analog-style pads, basses and leads. The official page separates stable downloads from nightly builds. Choose the stable release for an established project and preserve its installer when exchanging sessions, since evolving builds may differ in details of behavior or patch handling.
For a reusable production setup, save the patch with the session and note any external content it depends on. This makes it easier to reopen the arrangement on another machine.
Use the current stable release unless testing development changes. Nightly builds are separate from the stable download.
