LMMS

LMMS is a pattern-oriented music workstation built around instrument sequencing, sample playback and mixing. A piano roll and beat editor support electronic arrangements, while automation changes sounds through a song. It suits producers building tracks from MIDI notes and samples; recording a live band is a different workflow and may call for a separate recorder.

Before a full session, check audio-device selection, input monitoring and the project sample rate. A short saved project and exported audio file are useful first checks of the complete workflow.
