Dexed

Dexed is a six-operator FM synthesizer associated with Yamaha DX7-compatible patch editing and playback. It is useful for electric-piano textures, bells, metallic percussion and other sounds built through frequency modulation. Its operator interface exposes the synthesis structure directly. Existing DX7 patch banks provide a starting point, while programming from scratch rewards understanding operator relationships and envelopes.

For a reusable production setup, save the patch with the session and note any external content it depends on. This makes it easier to reopen the arrangement on another machine.
