Fender and Pokémon Introduce Red Stratocaster and Green Telecaster with 8-Bit Sound

Fender Music Corporation Japan and Pokémon Center have announced two Made in Japan electric guitars for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary: the Pokémon “Red Version” Stratocaster and “Green Version” Telecaster.

The models use pixel-art body graphics, special pickguards with a viewing-angle-dependent visual effect and a 30th-anniversary neck plate. The Red Stratocaster has dedicated high-output Pokémon Red single-coil pickups, while Fender describes the Green Telecaster’s dedicated single coils as tuned for balanced output, clarity and the platform’s characteristic high-frequency response.

Both guitars include an onboard “8-Bit Sound System.” Pressing the volume knob engages the circuit, which Fender says adds 8-bit electronic tones to the guitar’s normal output. Each instrument also comes with a dedicated hard case, illustrated certificate of authenticity and a tin containing 11 Pokémon-themed picks.

Japan sales will use a Pokémon Center Online lottery, with applications scheduled for November 19–24, 2026. Fender lists an official MSRP of ¥396,000 JPY including tax for each model; the announced lottery ships within Japan.
