Fender Studio Pro 8.2 Adds Trim Automation, Expanded Stem Separation and MIDI 2.0
Fender Studio has released Studio Pro 8.2, adding a group of mixing, editing and workflow functions to the DAW formerly developed as PreSonus Studio One.
Trim Automation adds a separate channel or send-volume layer for revising existing automation without redrawing it. Dim Solo Mode attenuates nonsoloed channels by a user-selected amount, and sessions can now contain multiple marker tracks with either time-based or bar-and-beat positions.
Stem Separation can now isolate guitar and piano in addition to the existing stem types. Vocal Tune receives a Follow option for reading the song’s key and scale without automatic changes, plus a low-latency mode that Fender specifies at under 3 ms. Other additions include contextual plug-in replacement, note-level Sound Variations, improved track and channel freezing, and MIDI 2.0 support on macOS and Linux. Fender says Windows support awaits Microsoft’s MIDI 2.0 release for Windows 11 25H2 and later.
Version 8.2 is available to eligible perpetual-license holders and Fender Studio Pro+ subscribers. Fender lists the perpetual license at $199.99 USD MSRP, the annual Pro+ subscription with a perpetual license at $179.99 USD MSRP, the perpetual-license upgrade at $99.99 USD MSRP, and the monthly subscription at $19.99 USD MSRP.
