Strymon Launches La Brea Analog Tape Drive
Strymon has added La Brea to its Series A range, a fully analog drive pedal built around multi-stage tape-saturation techniques rather than a digital tape model.
Strymon says the circuit can move from mild breakup through more compressed, near-fuzz textures. A three-position Shift switch changes the high-frequency emphasis, while a continuously variable dry path remains phase-aligned with the processed signal. The circuit runs internally at 24 volts to provide additional headroom.
La Brea is priced at $199 direct from Strymon in the US. The company announced the pedal September 29.
