Rupert Neve Designs Debuts Its First Three Plug-Ins

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Rupert Neve Designs has entered the plug-in market with software versions of three of its established hardware processors: the Portico II Master Buss Processor, 551 Inductor EQ and 542 Tape Emulator.

The plug-ins support AAX Native, AU and VST3 formats on macOS and Windows and use iLok authorization. RND describes them as faithful recreations of the hardware with additional functions made possible in software.

Pricing is $199 for the Portico II Master Buss Processor and $129 each for the 551 Inductor EQ and 542 Tape Emulator. RND temporarily withdrew early release builds of the Portico II and 542 after identifying an audio error and subsequently issued updated installers, so users should obtain current builds directly from RND.
