GSatPlus is a saturation processor developed with a console-style approach to harmonic shaping. It is useful for giving individual tracks or groups additional density and coloration. Drive settings should be judged with the output level compensated. As with other nonlinear processing, stronger input can change both tone and peak behavior, so listen beyond the immediate increase in apparent loudness.
Input level is part of the sound of nonlinear processing. Compare with output gain compensated, and listen to both transient detail and quieter passages before committing a strongly colored render.
