GRNi Lite

GRNi Lite is a permanently free granular instrument that turns one loaded sample into clouds of grains played from MIDI. ROOT sets the sample’s pitch reference, while DENSITY and SIZE control the texture. It is useful for sustained pads, fragmented loops and finding a playable instrument inside a short recording. A shared buffer library stores samples and selections for reuse. The paid GRNi adds layers, modulation, effects and a standalone application.

The player and its sound content are separate licensing decisions. Keep a note of the library source and save its location with the project so the instrument remains available when reopening a session.
