Arturia MiniFreak 49 Adds Full-Size Keys and a Pressure-Sensitive Touch Matrix

Arturia announced the MiniFreak 49 on October 20, 2026, expanding its six-voice hybrid synthesizer into a larger performance instrument. The keyboard has 49 full-size, semi-weighted keys with velocity and channel aftertouch, plus pitch and modulation wheels.

The main addition is a pressure-sensitive XYZ touch matrix. It handles modulation assignments, preset browsing and performance controls, including vector-style movement between four settings. Dedicated oscillator controls also reduce the amount of switching needed while editing sounds.

The underlying architecture combines two digital sound engines with an analog filter and VCA for each voice. Audio-rate filter FM and individual voice panning extend the sound-design options. Three effects slots, a 64-step sequencer and four modulation lanes round out the instrument.

MiniFreak V software is included, with preset management and bidirectional hardware control. Arturia lists a US direct price of $849; its announcement does not specify a separate MSRP.
