Audient Launches Horizon Thunderbolt Interface Range

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Audient announced its Horizon interface range on September 14, 2026, with worldwide availability scheduled from September 28. The three Thunderbolt 3 models are aimed at tracking rooms and studios integrating analog consoles and outboard equipment.

The Horizon 8P provides 24 inputs and 32 outputs, including eight microphone preamps with ORBIT variable-impedance control. The Horizon 16 offers 34 inputs and 34 outputs, while the Horizon 32 provides 50 inputs and 50 outputs. The latter two emphasize line-level connections for hybrid studio setups.

Audient specifies 32-bit conversion and says up to four interfaces can operate together through one macOS driver, reaching 200 inputs and 200 outputs with four Horizon 32 units. The range also includes ADAT expansion, word-clock connections and recallable settings.

The manufacturer quotes 0.99 ms round-trip latency at 192 kHz; its Horizon 8P product page identifies a 64-sample buffer for that figure. Actual performance will depend on the host computer and session. These are manufacturer specifications, not TAM measurements.

Each unit uses a fanless 1U metal chassis and carries a three-year warranty. The range is currently listed as macOS-only. Audient’s launch announcement does not give retail prices.
