Akai MPC One G2 Brings Gen 2 Processing to the Compact MPC

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Akai Professional has updated its compact standalone MPC with the MPC One G2, moving the platform to a Gen 2 eight-core processor with four times the processing power of the previous generation. The new model has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

The added processing headroom raises the ceiling to 32 plug-in tracks and 16 stereo audio tracks. USB-C audio is also included, allowing direct sampling from compatible phones, tablets and computers as well as integration with a DAW.

The MPC One G2 retains the seven-inch multitouch display and classic MPC pads, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and eight channels of CV/Gate output. It remains a standalone production system rather than requiring a host computer.
