SSL Introduces the Compact SSL 1 Audio Interface

Solid State Logic has introduced the SSL 1, a compact two-channel USB audio interface aimed at both small desktop systems and mobile recording. It supports 32-bit/192 kHz conversion and includes SSL’s 4K analog enhancement on the preamp.

The unusually useful detail is power: the interface can run from USB bus power or an external 5V source such as a phone charger or power bank, and SSL says it supports USB Audio Class 2.0 phones and tablets as well as Mac and Windows computers. It also includes a high-current headphone output.

SSL lists the SSL 1 at $159.99 ex tax in the U.S., £119.99 ex VAT in the UK and €149 ex VAT in Europe.
