Fender Studio Pro 8.1 Adds Studio Assistant and Vocal Tune

Fender has released Studio Pro 8.1, an update to its Studio Pro 8 DAW. The headline additions are an in-DAW Studio Assistant intended to provide technical guidance while working and a native Vocal Tune plug-in for pitch correction.

The update is notable partly because Fender is continuing to develop the software as a serious recording platform rather than treating the DAW as an accessory to its instrument business. Whether the assistant is genuinely useful in a working session is something that requires use, rather than a press release, to determine.
