Neumann MT 48 Firmware 2.0 Adds Plug-Ins and Expanded Monitoring

Neumann has released firmware 2.0 for the MT 48 audio interface, expanding the unit well beyond a conventional interface update. The new firmware adds support for premium DSP plug-ins previously available on Merging’s Anubis platform, along with new monitoring, broadcast and Dante capabilities.

The monitoring additions include speaker and source grouping, left/right flip and custom downmix rules. Neumann also says the update improves USB compatibility and overall performance. Firmware 2.0 itself is free. Optional Merging+Deesser and Eventide Blackhole plug-ins are listed at US MSRP $209 each.
