The Anvil

The Anvil is a multi-channel guitar preamplifier simulator. It is useful for building clean through driven guitar chains inside a workstation. Its preamp role means that power-amp and cabinet treatment may be needed for a complete recorded rig. Set input gain deliberately and evaluate the sound with the intended following stages rather than judging the preamp in isolation.

For direct recording, check interface input gain and monitoring latency before evaluating the sound. A pedal or amplifier processor may still need separate cabinet processing, depending on the signal chain.
