PipeWire
By PipeWire Contributors
PipeWire is a Linux multimedia routing system used to connect audio applications and hardware. It is useful as infrastructure for recording, playback and exchanging streams between tools rather than as a conventional editor. Configuration, session management and compatible client support determine how a particular workstation behaves. Follow the distribution’s installation guidance and verify device routing before changing an established production system.
Check the selected input, output and monitoring path before beginning important work. A short test file can reveal routing or format problems that are not obvious from a meter alone.
