FerricTDS mkIII
By Variety Of Sound
FerricTDS mkII applies tape-inspired dynamics and saturation to recorded material. It is useful for adding density and shaping transient behavior without treating the process as ordinary equalization. The interaction of level and coloration deserves careful listening. Use the current official Windows build and compare at matched output level, especially when judging a subtle effect on a full mix.
Input level is part of the sound of nonlinear processing. Compare with output gain compensated, and listen to both transient detail and quieter passages before committing a strongly colored render.
