DrumGizmo is an open-source drum sampler designed around multi-channel acoustic drum recordings. It is useful for building drum performances with separate microphone-style outputs that can be mixed in a workstation. Kits are separate downloads and may be substantial. Routing and MIDI mapping should be configured deliberately so the instrument behaves predictably within a recording or mixing template.
When replacing another drum instrument, check note mapping and velocity response before judging the arrangement. The same MIDI pattern can produce a different balance when voices and articulations move between notes.
