Chow Tape Model

Chow Tape Model explores the behavior of magnetic tape through a collection of modeled processes. It can add saturation, pitch instability and other tape-associated changes to recorded material. It is useful for both restrained coloration and deliberately altered sound design. The controls expose more of the underlying behavior than a single-knob effect, encouraging deliberate adjustment of each contribution.

Input level is part of the sound of nonlinear processing. Compare with output gain compensated, and listen to both transient detail and quieter passages before committing a strongly colored render.
