Blue Cat’s Flanger
By Blue Cat Audio
Blue Cat’s Flanger uses short modulated delays to produce sweeping comb-filter effects. It is useful for moving guitar textures, pronounced drum effects and transitions that need a changing spectral character. Feedback increases the emphasis of the sweep. Try both subtle insert use and a more obvious effect return, checking that the movement supports the arrangement rather than masking important details.
Check sustained notes and rhythmic passages separately. Modulation that adds interest to a held sound can blur articulation elsewhere, so the wet balance should follow the role of the part.
