Automaton (legacy)
By Audio Damage
Automaton is a legacy buffer effect driven by cellular-automata behavior. It is useful for unpredictable rhythmic textures and experimental transformations of existing sound. The official archive distributes the discontinued version free, without current support. Its older plug-in formats may need a compatible legacy host; capture useful results as audio and retain the original source for later arrangement changes.
Save intermediate versions while experimenting, especially before a large routing or parameter change. Keeping the original source alongside a rendered result makes later arrangement and revision much easier.
Official discontinued legacy release, supplied as-is without support. VST2/AU only where supplied; no modern-format compatibility assumed.
