Fender Introduces Lee Sklar Signature Precision Bass

Fender has introduced a Lee Sklar Precision Bass based on the heavily modified P Bass the session bassist has used through decades of recording and touring work. The model is part of Fender’s Stories Collection and reproduces the practical changes Sklar made to his own instrument rather than simply applying an artist finish to a standard Precision.

Given Sklar’s recording history, this is one of the more relevant signature instruments for a studio-oriented publication. The useful question is how faithfully the production model reproduces the functional details of the working instrument; that is a matter for a review rather than a product announcement.
