Dangerous Music Rebuilds BAX EQ as a New Plug-In

By Richard Alan Salz ·

Dangerous Music has released a new BAX EQ plug-in, rebuilding the digital version of its broad-stroke mastering and mixing equalizer from the ground up with Dangerous Music Digital and Acustica Audio.

The plug-in is based on the analog BAX EQ designed by mastering engineer Chris Muth. Dangerous says production hardware was measured and auditioned during development, using its CONVERT-AD+ and CONVERT-2 converters in the capture process.

Beyond the hardware-style controls, the software adds Classic, Expanded and Dual Mono views, Mid-Side processing, independent left/right operation and output control. It supports VST3, AU and AAX on macOS and Windows.

The launch price is $179 and a 30-day trial is available.
