Couture Free
By Auburn Sounds
Couture Free shapes transients, helping alter the apparent attack and sustain of recorded material. It is useful for making percussion more pointed or reducing excessive attack without conventional threshold-based compression. Its free feature set should be distinguished from the full edition. Evaluate the effect in the groove, since a more prominent transient does not always mean a better-balanced part.
Set timing against the performance and compare at similar output level. Listen to attack, sustain and pauses, since a level-control change can alter the musical phrasing as well as peak readings.
