plugdata

plugdata brings a graphical patching environment into standalone and plug-in workflows. It is useful for building custom instruments and effects using connected processing objects. Its relationship to Pure Data makes a large body of patching knowledge relevant, though compatibility still needs checking. Saving the patch preserves the custom processing design rather than only a conventional plug-in preset.

Save intermediate versions while experimenting, especially before a large routing or parameter change. Keeping the original source alongside a rendered result makes later arrangement and revision much easier.
