Phantom Center

Phantom Center provides a way to inspect and manipulate center-related stereo information. It is useful for exploring the relationship between shared and differing material in a stereo recording. Such processing can change balance as well as width. Listen to the complete signal and check mono playback before using an altered stereo image in a final mix or mastering chain.

Compare the stereo presentation with a mono sum and, where possible, on both speakers and headphones. Image changes can affect apparent balance even when no conventional equalizer or compressor is involved.
