VISR
By University of Southampton / VISR
VISR is a framework for building spatial-audio rendering systems. It is useful for developers and researchers working with object-based and multichannel reproduction rather than musicians seeking a ready-made stereo effect. Its modular structure supports custom signal-flow designs. Building and configuring the software requires technical setup, and a particular rendering application may need additional components or audio hardware.
Compare the stereo presentation with a mono sum and, where possible, on both speakers and headphones. Image changes can affect apparent balance even when no conventional equalizer or compressor is involved.
