WaveSurfer
By KTH / WaveSurfer Contributors
WaveSurfer is an audio visualization and editing application associated with speech and sound analysis. It is useful for inspecting waveforms, working with annotations and exploring analysis-oriented editing tasks. Its interface and supported extensions differ from a music workstation. Keep original recordings and annotation files together when exchanging material, and check the current package and runtime requirements for the chosen operating system.
Keep an untouched source file when making destructive edits or conversions. Check the exported audio as well as the project, particularly when the destination requires a specific sample rate or bit depth.
