Voxengo SPAN

SPAN is a real-time spectrum analyzer with additional metering and stereo-analysis information. It is useful for examining tonal balance, comparing references and spotting energy that is difficult to judge on small monitors. Adjust averaging and display range to the task. This entry covers the free SPAN, while SPAN Plus is a separate commercial edition with expanded functions.

A useful display begins with a clear question and appropriate measurement settings. Confirm important observations through listening or a second check, and document calibration where absolute measurements matter.
