rtpMIDI provides network MIDI connectivity for Windows using the RTP-MIDI approach. It is useful for connecting compatible computers and devices across a network. Network configuration and session setup are essential parts of use. Test timing and reliability under the actual performance conditions, and keep MIDI transport separate from assumptions about transmitting audio, which requires a different system.
MIDI carries performance instructions rather than recorded sound. Confirm the receiving instrument, channel assignments and note mapping when exchanging a file or moving the setup to another computer.
