Mp3tag edits metadata across supported audio-file formats. It is useful for preparing delivery information, organizing reference collections and correcting inconsistent tags in batches. The free Windows application should be distinguished from the separately priced Mac product. Review batch operations on a small selection first and preserve important original metadata before applying a template to an entire collection.
Check the selected input, output and monitoring path before beginning important work. A short test file can reveal routing or format problems that are not obvious from a meter alone.
