ISOL8
By TBProAudio
ISOL8 divides a signal into frequency regions for monitoring and inspection. It is useful for hearing what is happening in the bass, midrange or treble of a mix without changing the actual production processing. Band isolation can help identify masking and tonal problems. Return to full-range listening before making decisions, since isolated bands can exaggerate issues that are unobtrusive in context.
A useful display begins with a clear question and appropriate measurement settings. Confirm important observations through listening or a second check, and document calibration where absolute measurements matter.
