DuckTool

DuckTool provides sidechain-controlled level ducking with a visible envelope and controls for its shape. It is useful for making space around a kick, vocal or other reference signal while retaining more deliberate timing than a fixed preset effect. The current official download remains a beta, including an advanced detector menu. Check the sidechain route and host delay compensation before judging how well a chosen envelope fits the performance.

Set timing against the performance and compare at similar output level. Listen to attack, sustain and pauses, since a level-control change can alter the musical phrasing as well as peak readings.

Current official version is beta. Requires a correctly configured sidechain source; the documented default processing latency is 10 ms.
