Alter/Ego
By Plogue
Alter/Ego is a singing-synthesis instrument for programming vocal parts from notes and text. It is useful for synthetic vocal sketches and characterful electronic arrangements. Compatible voicebanks provide the actual vocal identity, with controls for performance and pronunciation. Voicebank licensing and availability must be checked separately from the free engine, especially when a finished track will be released commercially.
Audition the instrument with the actual musical part, including its velocity range and register. A sound that is attractive in isolation may need a different balance once other instruments enter.
Requires a compatible voicebank; voicebanks have their own licenses. The free engine does not include every available voice.
