Chow Kick

Chow Kick synthesizes kick-drum sounds through a model-oriented signal path. It is useful for shaping low-frequency percussion without selecting a recorded drum sample. Pitch movement, decay and tonal balance determine how the kick works with a bass part. Start with a simple pattern and evaluate the sound in the groove rather than only as an isolated hit.

When replacing another drum instrument, check note mapping and velocity response before judging the arrangement. The same MIDI pattern can produce a different balance when voices and articulations move between notes.
