Spek
By Spek Project
Spek displays an audio file as a spectrogram, showing how frequency content changes over time. It is useful for quickly inspecting bandwidth, spotting persistent tones and comparing the broad spectral appearance of files. The display can suggest questions about a recording or encode, but it does not by itself establish provenance, listening quality or whether a file has been processed.
A useful display begins with a clear question and appropriate measurement settings. Confirm important observations through listening or a second check, and document calibration where absolute measurements matter.
